Thermae Palace Belgium

Thermae Palace is a Grand art deco sea side hotel - one of the most impressive and elegant constructions on the Belgium coast, and a former Royal residence.

In it's hey day during the 1930's a large part of the Hotel's concept was devoted to the benefits of it's location, drawing fresh salt water directly from the sea, complimented by thermal bathing, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and even the production of it's own bottled thermal water set within a grand Drinks Hall. By today's standards the Spa was a very medicinal concept, and later fell out of favour.

In recent years the Hotel has relied on seasonal and corporate business but missed the past additional strength that the Spa had provided to attract un-seasonal business and enhance it's appeal to corporate & short break guests.

On inspecting the old disused spa within this grand hotel it was evident that the impressive volumes of space would be a benefit to retain, particularly an unusual advantage within a basement setting. With its exceptionally tall ceiling heights and changes of levels spread over in excess of 1000m2 we were able retain the original grand feeling as well as the thermal & hydro theme, but totally re-present an extensive fresh new format re-allocating space throughout.

The new Thermae Palace Spa will be a 'moody' spacious oasis of thermal, hydro and relaxation experiences with 11 treatment rooms of various types including double suites, and a spa café. The layout will encourage discovery, a spa journey, interest and a feeling of sequential bathing on a grand scale.
