A Luxurious Gem....

Overview

The Lanesborough is London's foremost address for discerning travellers. There are few hotels in the UK that rival it. This elegant hotel offers the highest international standards of comfort, quality and security and is part of the exclusive St Regis collection of hotels. Well known celebrities and dignitaries are amongst it's impressive guest list. However, the hotel lacked Spa facilities.

Objective

A hotel of The Lanesborough's standing required to offer guests exceptional quality and a comprehensive choice of treatments. The focus of any Spa addition would be entirely dedicated to the hotel's discerning guest and presented in the style of The Lanesborough. However, the location of the Spa within the hotel had to be convenient for the local Knightsbridge residents if this custom should require developing once in operation, as well as serving hotel residents via a convenient & private route from their room.

Constraints

The floor area was very limited, however we had to create an impression of luxurious Space and deliver a comprehensive treatment menu. The vibrancy of a Gym was to be located within relative proximity of the treatment rooms due to the overall limitations on Space, and it had to be overseen by Spa reception to ensure staff efficiencies for a relatively small operation. With all this in mind we did not want to compromise the feeling of a Spa arrival.

Achievements

Highly luxurious & Spacious treatment rooms were created, one being entirely dedicated to luxurious nail treatments, another also incorporating a Rasul that doubles as a private Steam Room. The rooms are designed to perform a very comprehensive treatment menu, all equipment is hidden yet conveniently accessible to the therapist. The layout of the Spa Suite effectively separates and insulates the treatment operation from the gym, minimises staffing requirements without compromising the intimacy of the personal service The Lanesborough is so renowned. The resulting environment justifies the highest treatment prices in London being a creditable addition to one of London 's most prestigious hotels.
